The Centre for Leadership Development is partly funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) to support small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Merseyside Objective 1 area.

Up to 45 per cent funding is available until the end of June 2008 to SME leaders and potential leaders requiring leadership training and development. SMEs are defined as businesses with fewer than 250 employees.

While the ESF funding applies only to SMEs, the Centre for Leadership Development welcomes senior managers and potential executives from larger organisations.

Although these companies must pay the whole programme fee, the commercial advantages are as relevant to large businesses as smaller enterprises.
